Mrs. Gursharan Kaur Aurora's association with the school started as
long back as the year 1964, when she joined the school as a student of
Std. IX in 1964 and passed Higher Secondary from the school in 1967.
In 1972, she did graduation and was placed on the Merit List. She
stood first in M A. (English) Which she passed from
Punjabi
University in 1974. In M. Phil., she got 'O' (outstanding) grade. Her
thesis on the works of Patrick White, Australian Nobel Laureate was
also awarded an 'O' grade. She was awarded the 'Student of the Year'
Award by the Department of English, Punjabi University, Patiala, in
1974.
She rejoined the school as a teacher on
April 1,
1988. She introduced the House System in the school and also launched
the School Magazine.
She is a member of the Subject Experts' Panels (English and
Psychology) Of Punjab School Education Board and has vetted and edited
a few of the text books of English for the Board.
She teaches English Literature and Psychology to Senior Secondary
classes.
On
the 1st
of September, 2001 she became the Vice Principal and was elevated to the post of
Principal on
the 1st
of July, 2005. Presently, she is also the Secretary of the Managing
Committee of the school.
